Her childhood connects Sekondi with the ancestral home of the Abookye House in Cape Coast.

Born in Sekondi on 26 December 1972, Felicia Abena Annan is the daughter of Mr. Emmanuel Odame Annan and Madam Roseline Mama Mends of the royal Abookye House. She is the second child in her family and the firstborn daughter.

Her maternal family includes her grandmother, Maame Esi Akyere, and her great-grandmother, Mama Panyin, who served as an Acting Paramount Queen Mother of Oguaa. She is also the niece of Nana Ekua Abookye V, her predecessor on the stool.

She began her schooling in Ntoto, Cape Coast, close to the family’s ancestral home. After her early primary years, she moved to Sekondi to join her mother, who was running a family business.

Her education began in Cape Coast and continued in Sekondi, followed by secondary schooling and catering training in the Western Region.
